INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE
Local Exhaust Ventilation Services (LEV)
The type of engineering control equipment that commonly used in the industries. To control workers exposure to the hazardous chemicals that effect to health. It operate on the principle of capturing a contaminant at or near its source before they are dispersed into the workroom environment. Contaminants can be in the form of dust, smoke, mist, aerosol, vapor and gas.
The conduct of Examination and test of the LEV system and its performance is to identify distinct from routine maintenance to determine whether or not the LEV system is performing correctly and effectively.
Methodology for the examination and testing of LEV shall be in accordance with Guidelines on Occupational Safety and Health for Design, Inspection, Testing and Examination of Local Exhaust Ventilation System, 2008.
